6. Launch, maintenance and support

Now the app must be launched via the App Store and/or Google Play. Title, description, category, keywords, publication icon and screenshots must be carefully selected so that the app gets the highest possible score in the launch process. We will continuously help you.

Here are 3 good reasons why you should choose an app

    Loyalty

Stay relevant with an app and give your customers the complete user experience. It will strengthen your brand and customers will come again because they remember the pleasant journey. - Be "present" in the customers' context - Offer the consumer something "extra" (loyalty or customer clubs)

    Personalisation

Content is the key and with an app you get the opportunity to be present for customers - Build relationships with the consumer - Personalised notifications

    Digital "value proposition"

Create greater value for the consumer. The consumer asks "why don't you have an app?" - An app as an integral part of the value the business offers - Credibility in downloading an app from the App Store

The Skagenfood App 2.0 from hybrid to native

In 2020, Skagenfood launched their App 2.0 in collaboration with Novicell. A reimagined app that is not just a change in technology in a more future-proof direction. But also a rethinking of the entire user experience. In the new App 2.0, the focus is on creating an inspiring universe that is still as easy to use as the remote control for a TV.

Novicell has been very accommodating and flexible throughout the process, which has required something from all parties, as the modernisation of our previous platform necessitated a lot of investigations and new development. The improved frontend now in the pipeline is our first step together. We look forward to the series of upcoming improvements that are just around the corner that will further elevate the customer experience.

Which app technology should you choose?

When we talk about Apps, it covers a broad common term for a small piece of software that can be installed on your telephone - and does not depend on having to be displayed through a web browser. How this little piece of software is developed and with which technologies may vary. In the following, we will review the 3 main directions you can consider following if you want to expand your business with an App.

  • Progressive Web Application (PWA)

Progressive Web Application is the web-based version of an app. This means that it is built with web technologies. In fact, it is a website that can be downloaded onto a phone and saved as an App. Google is largely responsible for PWA development and is their take on the App platform of the future. The biggest advantage of PWA is development time and price.

    Native Application

The classic Native Application is still the most used. Native apps can fully utilise the various devices' hardware and software. This means that Apple's and Google's latest mobile technologies are possible to use in Native apps as soon as they are available. The major disadvantage of this model is that two versions of the App must be built. One for each of the two OSs (Android and iOS).

  • Hybrid Application

Hybrid Applications are a combination of the two above. By using components from PWA and Native, you can create a strong Hybrid App, which contains much of what the two above can offer individually. A Hybrid App often consists of a Native framework with pages that are downloaded from the web. The advantage here is that you create a Native App, but only do the work once. In return, you bind yourself to a Hybrid technology, which is typically not owned or operated by Google or Apple – and thus the chosen technology may be discontinued sometime in the future.
