The challenge

AlixPartners’ website sits at the heart of their digital ecosystem and, therefore, plays a strategic role in the scalability of the business. They had more than 10,000 visitors every day in 2023. AlixPartners wanted a ground-up redesign, rebuild and a partner that could provide ongoing support for their company website. The site would address all of the challenges they had with their existing website as well as deliver a platform that was industry leading and "future proof". AlixPartners envisioned a seamless user experience with high accessibility and blistering performance. A strong storytelling platform as a business tool, not just an online brochure.

The overall solution

The site was designed to prioritise core user journeys to drive conversions while showcasing the firm's people as key assets and market differentiators. It integrates their people throughout, optimised for search, and delivering enhanced personal branding to showcase the firm's unique value and ease client contact. Beyond functional requirements, the site is built to be best-in-class for performance, responsiveness, accessibility, SEO and sustainability, utilising cloud hosting, composable architecture, and zero-downtime deployments.

The technical solution

Umbraco was chosen as the CMS, paired with a composable architecture for scalability. This setup enabled seamless integrations like Algolia for search, Passle for insights, and a recruitment platform, all easily replaceable to adapt to future needs. To accommodate the requirements, the technical solution was initiated with and supported by user-centred design by the Creative team in Novicell. This included research, SEO review, user journey mapping, and wireframe creation. The resulting responsive, modern, and agile design was crafted in collaboration with AlixPartners' brand team, laying a strong foundation for the website. The design, which was the foundation of the website, was modern, agile, and full of opportunities.
