Through their three brands—JNA Windows and Doors, Sparvinduer, and Bedst & Billigst—they reach consumers in various European markets.

Strong partnership: JABS Group and Novicell optimize business operations.

When Novicell and JABS Group formed their partnership, JABS Group was facing several challenges in their digital business: They aimed to enhance the customer experience, optimize their product configurator, and boost sales by offering innovative digital solutions. The collaboration between JABS Group and Novicell has led to multiple projects that have played a crucial role in their business. These projects are detailed in the case description.

    Magento

    JABS Group's commerce solution is implemented on Adobe Commerce Cloud. Since partnering with JABS Group, Novicell has advised and collaborated on optimizing the entire Magento solution, including reducing complexity to create a robust, scalable platform. This includes placing larger components as microservices alongside Magento, hosted in the same AWS setup. Novicell continuously assists JABS Group with the development and upgrading of the Magento solution, crucial for maintaining security and functionality.

    Towards Hyvä

    JABS Group's ecommerce solution is progressively transitioning to a Hyvä solution. Hyvä, a frontend solution for Magento, aligns well with JABS Group's ambitions and business development. It supports ongoing development and has fundamentally reformed Magento's frontend for high performance and good PageSpeed scores. In essence, Hyvä is a frontend built on newer technologies, offering simplicity in development, which lays the foundation for quality and performance.

The product configurator was challenged.

The majority of products sold on JABS Group's ecommerce solutions are made-to-measure, meaning customers configure them online to their specifications. The previous product configurator suffered from inadequate configuration and pricing rules, slow loading times, and was built on a client-side solution, which depended on the customer's device and internet connection, potentially degrading the experience, especially on mobile. A new configurator has been launched in collaboration with Novicell.

Optimized configurator for custom-made products.

The new product configurator is implemented server-side, making it independent of the customer's device and browser performance. This results in a much faster and more stable configurator, providing customers with a reliable, quick, and user-friendly configuration experience. This approach aligns with the strategy of placing greater complexity outside the ecommerce platform to maintain fast and easy maintenance. Additionally, the configurator now offers better options for configuring unique window shapes like curved, triangular, and round, catering to the growing demand for non-traditional, custom-made windows.

Fast Track: Faster delivery.

As part of their ongoing focus on improving customer experience, JABS Group and Novicell have implemented an option for faster delivery on specific product configurations. This initiative enhances interest and satisfaction among customers seeking quick delivery for their projects.

Tracking: Full transparency on the product journey.

Through an advanced microservice developed in Laravel, customers now receive notifications throughout the order process, from order confirmation "Thank you for your order", through production updates "Congratulations. Your door is now in production", to delivery information "You can expect your door to be delivered on Monday. More details to follow". This enhances customer experience and also reduces inquiries to customer service. The microservice is integrated with Navision, nShift, and Magento.

Energy calculator

An energy calculator has also been launched, allowing customers to estimate their energy savings by choosing energy-efficient windows and doors. This feature aids customers in understanding the value of their energy renovations and modern windows and doors, not just in financial terms but also from a sustainable perspective.

JABS Group x Novicell optimizes the digital value chain with algorithms

JABS Group sees great potential in better utilizing factory capacity and reducing manual order processing. In collaboration with Novicell, they aim to enhance order flow through algorithms using data from the factories. This will concretely lead to faster lead times, shorter transportation, and more precise delivery schedules—key factors in customer competition.

 

Additionally, Novicell and JABS Group plan to increase solution personalization for a more user-friendly and relevant customer journey.
